HOW MANY STATES IN INDIA?

 There are 28 states and 8 Union territories in the country. Union Territories are administered by the President through an Administrator appointed by him/her.

States of India

  1. Andhra Pradesh - Rich cultural heritage, stunning temples, and picturesque landscapes.
  2. Arunachal Pradesh Misty mountains, monasteries, lakes and culture.

  3. Assam -Assam tea and Assam silk.The state was the first site for oil drilling in Asia.

  4. BiharBihar is the origin of the two biggest religions in the world, namely Buddhism and Jainism

  8. Haryana -Cattle wealth and is the home of the famous Murrah buffalo  and the Haryana cow. No wonder there is an abundance of milk and milk products in Haryanvi  cuisine.
  9. Himachal PradeshFamous for its breathtaking scenery, vibrant culture, and adventure activities. It is a popular destination among tourists for its beautiful hill stations.
  10. Jharkhand Leading producer of mineral wealth in the country.Variety of minerals like iron ore, coal, copper ore, mica, bauxite, graphite, limestone, and uranium.
  11. KarnatakaA land known for its silks, spices  and sandalwood. Tourism in Karnataka stands out with its diverse offerings that  include wildlife & national parks.
  12. Kerala - Known as 'God's Own Country', enchanting backwaters, lush tea plantations, pristine beaches, and rich cultural heritage.

  13. Madhya Pradesh Madhya Pradesh is the “Tiger State of India”. Historical monuments, modern amenties and diverse flora and fauna.
  14. Maharashtra - Maharashtra is also famous for its culture and beauty. The ancient cave paintings found at Ajanta and  Ellora are UNESCO World Heritage sites and popular tourist destinations.
  15. Manipur - Manipur is known mainly for its natural beauty and some of the rarest species of birds and animals.Manipur also has the largest freshwater lake in northeast India.
  16. Meghalaya - Abode of Clouds, falls in one of the richest biodiversity areas in the world. The famed monsoons, the rich traditional festivals, and the dramatic terrain.
  17. Mizoram - Known as the 'Land of the Highlanders' The land of Mizoram has unique natural beauty, a variety of landscapes, rich flora and fauna, clusters of pines, and peculiar villages with bamboo houses.
  18. NagalandIts diverse indigenous tribes and vibrant culture. With its stunning landscapes, unique festivals, and delicious cuisine, Nagaland tourism offers visitors a glimpse into a world that is both traditional and modern.
  19. Odisha - stunning architecture, splendid temples, dances, and festivals, and all these form a part of the culture of this state.

  24. TelanganaHome to famous attractions like the Charminar, Golkonda Fort, Chowmahalla Palace and much more, Telangana is a state famous for its bronze castings, minarets and handicrafts.
  25. Tripura - Tripura ranks second to Kerala in the production of natural rubber in the country. The state is known for its handicraft, particularly hand-woven cotton fabric, wood carvings, and bamboo products.
  26. Uttar Pradesh - Uttar Pradesh is known for its rich culture and tradition. It is home to Ayodhya and Mathura birthplace of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna and Bhagwan Parshuram respectively. Uttar Pradesh attracts many national and international tourists.
  27. Uttarakhand - Uttarakhand, a state in northern India crossed by the Himalayas, is known for its Hindu pilgrimage sites. Rishikesh, a major centre for yoga study, was made famous by the Beatles' 1968 visit. The city hosts the evening Ganga Aarti, a spiritual gathering on the sacred Ganges River.
  28. West Bengal - West Bengal is famous for its terracotta temples of Bishnupur. Hazarduari Palace, a tourist attraction, is known to have the second largest chandelier in the world and also the largest staircase in India.

What did you learned from this all over india travel?

India can teach you many things, it can teach you to be adaptable, patient and more open minded and to be tougher yet more compassionate. Tackling the challenges of traveling in India has increased my confidence and I am also learning to let go and not worry so much about things that are out of my control.
